The Growing Shopping List: We are finalising some key ideas about certain specific elements that will (should) end up in the final property. For example we know exactly what the coffee table will look like - just haven't worked out where to source it from yet. Likewise we know that we will have 8 or 10 white sheepskin rugs for the terrace seating area. We know what the kitchen bar stools look like, and where to get them (Rockett St George, just haven't pressed Order). We know what exactly what light we want hanging over the dining table (will share this at a later date). We know what the bedding and the other textile style/ palette will be.
Breaking it Down: What we're really keen not to do though, is to get to September when the renovation is due to be finished, with a GIGANTIC shopping list of a zillion lamps, rugs, curtains, chairs, cushions and so on, and have to source it all in a massive hurry and serious panic. So we were both probably more smug and thrilled than strictly necessary when we finally took the plunge last weekend and acquired the first proper item that will end up in the final chalet, having spotted it in an interiors shop in Morzine.
In Addition: Also impulse bought the ceramic deer head at the top, which will hang alongside a few other similar taxidermic type wall art we've been collecting over the years, but haven't used in London flat.
